Brake Pads, Removing And Installing, Brakes 1ZA, 1ZC, 1ZD, 1ZK, 1ZL, 1LI, 1LJ, 1LL: Removing

-- Remove the brake caliper. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, ALL BRAKES EXCLUDING 1LC, 1LE AND 1LF .

-- Free up the wire for the brake pad wear sensor -1- by opening the protective cap -3- and disengaging the wire from the brake caliper -arrows-.

-- If the brake pads are being replaced, place the Piston Resetting Tool:T10145  with a wooden block -1- placed between it and the old brake pads and push the brake caliper pistons all the way back into the brake caliper.

Label the brake pads when removing if they are going to be used again. Install in the same position, otherwise the braking effect will be uneven.

-- Remove the brake pads -3 and 4- one after the other toward the center of the brake caliper.

-- Unclip the brake pad retaining plate -1-.

-- If the brake pads are replaced, unclip the top and bottom brake pad springs -2-.
