D-Pillar Trim Panel, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Fold the rear seat backrests forward.

-- Unclip the cover -1- using the Trim Removal Wedge :3409 -arrows-.

-- If installed, remove the luggage compartment roll cover.

-- Remove the bench seat / bucket seats. Refer to BENCH SEAT/SINGLE SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the side cushion. Refer to SIDE CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Pull the backrest release lever.

-- Pry off the cap -1- with a screwdriver.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- behind it.

-- Free up the luggage compartment side trim panel -1- near the rear lid seal.

-- Unclip the top of the luggage compartment side trim panel from the body and the trim panels -arrows-.

-- Pull the top of the luggage compartment side trim panel as far inward as possible.

-- If necessary, disconnect the connectors and free up the release cable for the remote backrest release.

-- Unclip the front of the side cover -1- using the Trim Removal Wedge :3409 -arrow A-.

-- Detach the side cover from the D-pillar trim panel -arrow B- and remove it.

-- Remove the expanding rivet -arrow- with the Pliers :T40172C (installed depending on the model).

-- Free up the D-pillar trim panel in the rear lid seal area.

-- Unclip the D-pillar trim panel -1- from the D-pillar -arrow A- through -arrow C- using the Pry Lever :80-200 .

-- Remove the D-pillar trim panel downward from the headliner.

-- If installed, disconnect the midrange speaker connector.

Bracket, removing

-- Unclip the wiring harness.

-- If installed, disengage the water drain hose -2- from the bracket.

-- Remove the expanding rivet -1- using the Pliers :T40172C .

-- Release the tab -3- with a small screwdriver and pull the bracket upward out of the mounts.

-- Carefully pull down the headliner slightly and remove the bracket.
