Center Vent, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Move the steering wheel as far to the rear and down as possible. Use the full steering column adjustment range for this.
-- Remove the instrument panel cover on the driver side. Refer to DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the glove compartment. Refer to GLOVE COMPARTMENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the front passenger side decorative trim for the instrument panel. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL DECORATIVE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the A/C display control head trim. Refer to DISPLAY CONTROL HEAD TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Using the Trim Removal Wedge :3409 , unclip the instrument cluster gap cover -1- from the instrument panel vent -arrows-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
North American market-specific
-- Remove the bolt -3- for the strap -2- for the vent on the instrument panel crossmember.
-- Disengage the strap for the instrument panel vent -arrow-.
Continuation for all vehicles
-- Carefully insert the Hook Tool :T40207 between the slats and hook it into the side of the vent.
The front passenger side vent has a hole on both sides for attaching the Hook Tool :T40207 .
-- Alternating between the sides, carefully remove the vent -1- from the installation opening -arrow-.
-- Unclip the vent from the instrument panel using the Trim Removal Wedge :3409 -arrows-.
-- Carefully insert the Hook Tool :T40207 between the slats and hook it into the side of the vent.
-- Remove the vents -1- from the installation opening, alternating from side to side.
-- At the same time, unclip the vents from the instrument panel using the Trim Removal Wedge :3409 -arrows-.
The center vent can be unclipped from the instrument panel in the display unit area only by using relatively strong force.
-- Remove the instrument panel vent carefully and disconnect the connectors.
