Rear Thorax Airbag With Igniter, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:

Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Remove the used clip from the side cushion bracket.

-- Press the new clip into the side cushion bracket until it clicks into place.

CAUTION:

Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.

Risk of injury.

- Discharge the static electricity: quickly touch the door striker.

-- Connect the connector -1- to the airbag igniter in direction of -arrow A-.

-- Press in the connector lock -2- in the direction of -arrow B-. At the same time, the connector is pushed into the airbag igniter all the way and locks into place.

Make sure the wires are not pinched.

-- Insert the side cushion and press in the wire frame forcefully into the clip.

-- Make sure the wire hook engages correctly into the clip.

CAUTION:

Risk of airbag deployment.

Risk of injury.

- Switching on the ignition (key/button) after assembly may only be done when the driver seat is positioned all the way back.

-- Check and erase the airbag control module DTC memory because faults can be stored from when the connectors are disconnected. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
