Head Curtain Airbag With Igniter, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:

Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
After an airbag has deployed, the corresponding Right Rear Midrange Speaker 2 -R340- or Left Rear Midrange Speaker 2 -R341- must be replaced. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - SOUND SYSTEM .

-- Hook the head curtain airbag -1- at the rear into the mount on the body in direction of -arrow A-.

-- Engage the head curtain airbag -1- at the front into the mount in direction of -arrow B- and tighten.

-- Connect the connector -1- to the airbag igniter in direction of -arrow A-.

-- Press in the connector lock -2- in the direction of -arrow B-. At the same time, the connector is pushed into the airbag igniter all the way and locks into place.

Make sure the wires are not pinched.
Make sure the "colored strip" is visible along the entire length. This will ensure that the head curtain airbag is NOT twisted.

CAUTION:

Risk of airbag deployment.

Risk of injury.

- Switching on the ignition (key/button) after assembly may only be done when the driver seat is positioned all the way back.

-- Check and erase the airbag control module DTC memory because faults can be stored from when the connectors are disconnected. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
