Refrigerant R1234YF, Physical Characteristics

The vapor pressure curves of both refrigerant R1234yf and R134a are very similar across a wide temperature range; therefore, it is not possible to distinguish between both refrigerants. Refer to REFRIGERANT VAPOR PRESSURE TABLE and A/C System, General Information . Differentiating is only possible using sensors that can analyze the chemical composition of the refrigerants. With R1234yf, the A/C compressor is lubricated with special synthetic refrigerant oils, for example PAG oils (polyalkylene glycol oils) which are specified to the refrigerant R1234yf, the A/C compressor and the operating conditions of the specified additions (additives).
