This image shows the service connections on a vehicle without a high-voltage system (installed in plenum chamber). On vehicles with a high-voltage system, these connections are installed in the area behind the left headlamp in the engine compartment.

-- Remove the plenum chamber cover if necessary (depending on the component location). Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the closure caps (with seal) -A or B-.

-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit or A/C SERVICE STATION, USING .

CAUTION:

Danger of frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.

Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.

- Wear safety gloves.

- Wear protective eyewear.

- Evacuate or drain refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.

- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting or draining the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit has not been opened, extract or drain the refrigerant again. Pressure develops in the refrigerant circuit due to evaporation.

-- Remove the valve -C- with a suitable Socket from the Refrigerant Sockets:T10364  .
