Dryer Cartridge, Removing And Installing, From Receiver/Dryer On Condenser: Removing
Vehicles with High-Voltage System
-- Switch off (deactivate) the "parking air conditioner". Refer to Owner's Manual.
-- Switch the ignition on.
-- Vehicles with eat Pump Function, initiate the A/C system basic setting through the Thermal Management Control Module -J1024- and open the power-activated valves through the stored routine Extract, evacuate and fill the refrigerant circuit using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .
-- Switch the ignition off.
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit or A/C SERVICE STATION, USING .
Vehicles with 4-cylinder TFSI evo4 engine with radiator shutter
-- Remove the front bumper cover end plate. Refer to OVERVIEW - BUMPER COVER .
-- Remove the left and right radiator mount bolts -4-, slightly press the radiator -1- upward.
-- Pull the air duct -2- slightly backward and disengage from the retaining tabs -5- -arrow A-.
-- Disconnect the tabs -3- and remove the air duct -2- toward the front -arrow B-.
Continue for all vehicles except for ones with 4-cylinder TFSI evo 4 engines:
-- Remove the condenser. Refer to CONDENSER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Remove the plug -A-.
-- Remove the desiccant bag from the condenser -B-.
-- Seal the open connection on receiver/dryer of the condenser with plug -A- (to prevent dirt and moisture from getting in).
