Windshield Wiper, Bringing Into Service Position

- If the windshield wiper motor is to be run during the procedure, the front lid must be completely closed, otherwise the power supply to the wiper motor will be interrupted.
-- Make sure the wiper blades are not frozen if there is a risk for frost.
-- Switch the ignition on.
-- Activate the windshield wiper "on" menu item using the multimedia system control head. Refer to the appropriate Service Information.
- The windshield wipers run in the "service position".
-- Switch off the ignition.
CAUTION:
Risk of damaging the front lid by moving the windshield wipers back to the basic setting.
- Never maneuver a vehicle with the windshield wiper arms folded up.
TIP:
The windshield wipers move back into the basic setting at speeds of 6 km/h (3.7 mph) or above, or when the windshield wiper switch is operated.
