Battery, 48 V -A6-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:

-- Slide the Battery, 48 V -A6- -1- with the baseboard -3- in the -direction of the arrow- all the way into the retaining bracket -arrow- on the battery tray -2-.

-- Attach the protective housing upper section -1-.

-- Secure the bolts -arrows-.

-- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers, and connect the Battery, 48 V -A6- in the following sequence:

-- Connect the connector -3-.

Remove the insulating tape of the terminal clamps on the connecting wires -1- and -2-.

CAUTION:

Risk of short circuit by the battery terminal clamps.

- Insulate the battery terminal clamps.

-- First connect the battery positive cable terminal clamp -4- to the battery positive terminal "+" by hand and tighten the nut -3-.

-- Connect the battery ground cable terminal clamp -5- to the battery negative terminal "-" by hand and tighten the nut -2-.

-- Attach the caps until they engage audibly.

-- Check the Battery, 48 V -A6- for secure fit after the installation.

-- On equipment versions with battery cooling - VH3, install the battery cooling and air duct protective housing.

-- Push the pressure equalization hose -3- in until it engages audibly.

-- Connect the ground cable to the Battery -A-. Refer to Battery -A-, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Re-energize the 48V system. Refer to 48V SYSTEM, RE-ENERGIZING .

If the Battery, 48 V - A6- is reconnected, the following measures must be performed:

TIP:

After reconnecting the power supply, the ESP warning lamp can only go out after the vehicle has been driven a few meters.

-- If the Battery, 48 V -A6- was replaced, the new Battery, 48 V -A6- must be adapted.

Procedure

-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Select the Diagnostic  mode and start the diagnosis.

-- Select the Test plan  tab.

-- Select the Select individual test  button and select the following tree structure consecutively:

-- Start the selected program and follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display.
