Bumper Cover, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the lock carrier cover. Refer to LOCK CARRIER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen the front wheel cover in the area of the bumper side section. Refer to FRONT WHEEL ARCH TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Push in the front wheels and loosen the left and right wheel housing liner near the front bumper cover. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

-- Remove the front noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

-- Remove the left and right bolts -2 and 3- from the bumper cover -1-.

-- Release and disconnect the connectors -5-.

-- Place a drip tray under the left hose coupling for the washer fluid hose.

-- Release the clamp -6- and the washer fluid hose -4-.

-- Close the hose couplings using clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set:VAS 6122  .

-- SQ8 and RS Q8: Remove the bolts -arrows- out of the bumper cover -1-.

-- Q8: Remove the bolts -2- from the bumper cover -1-.

-- Release and disconnect the connector -3-.

-- Free up the wiring harness -2- -arrows-.

-- Remove the bolts -1-.

-- Disconnect the hose couplings -4-.

-- Close open hose couplings using clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set:VAS 6122  .

-- Disengage the side piece from the front side panel -arrow A- and remove the bumper cover -1- with the help of a second technician -B arrows-.
