Coolant Level, Coolant Level At Least To Upper Mark On Expansion Tank: Notes
Extremely dangerous voltage due to damaged high-voltage components
- Pay attention to the high-voltage system warning messages:
- Procedures Near High-Voltage Components. Refer to PROCEDURES THAT NEED IGNITION SWITCHED ON .
There is a risk of injury due to the coolant reservoir being under pressure.
- Only open the coolant reservoir when the engine is cold.
Incorrect coolant additives may cause significant damage to vehicle components.
The specified value is the upper marking on the coolant expansion tank.
Only distilled water may be used for mixing coolant additives. The water used in the mixture greatly affects the effectiveness of the coolant and the corrosion protection. To meet water quality requirements, only use distilled water when mixing with coolant.
Use only coolant additives according to the Parts Information. Using other coolant additives can impair the corrosion protection. Loss of coolant can cause considerable damage to the engine.
Coolant in the correct mixing ratio prevents freezing and corrosion damage as well as calcification. The boiling temperature is also increased. For these reasons the cooling system must have coolant additive the whole year.
Used coolant cannot be used again.
Only use water/coolant additive to lubricate the coolant hoses.
Operating a vehicle with a coolant level under the upper mark is not permitted.
