General Information - External Multimedia Devices

There are several versions of the connection for external multimedia devices:
- USB Distributor -R293- in the front center console storage compartment, USB port quantity: 2, SIM card (optional), SD card, UF7
- USB Distributor -R293- in the front center console storage compartment, USB port quantity: 2, SIM card (optional), SD card and USB Connection 1 -U41- in the rear center console, USB port quantity: 2, UF8
- Optional for all versions: ASI (Audi Smartphone Interface), IU1
Suitable adapter cables are needed. Refer to the appropriate Service Information.
The external multimedia device connection is a component of the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794-.
Fault Finding is performed using the "Guided Fault Finding" on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Component Location - USB DistributorR293 in Front Center Console Storage Compartment
The connections -1- are located in the front center console storage compartment.
Component Location - USB Connection 1U41 in Rear Center Console Trim
The connections -1- are located in the rear center console trim.
