Roof Reinforcement, Attaching To Body: Removing

-- Remove the headliner. Refer to HEADLINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
CAUTION:
Do not damage the paint.
- Proceed carefully when removing the roof reinforcements.
-- Cut the roof reinforcement -1 and 2- along the adhesive beads -A and B- with a carpet knife in strips.
-- Pull the strips off the roof.
-- Cut back any remaining adhesive using the Window Cutter:V.A.G 1561A and Scraper Blade - 45mm:V.A.G 1561/20 .
- If any paint was damaged when removing the roof reinforcements, correct the paint damage according to the specifications. Refer to the appropriate Paint Repair Information.
