Roof Reinforcement, Attaching To Body: Installing

-- Measure the width of the roof reinforcements -1 and 2- and mark the center.

-- Guide the front roof reinforcements -1- into the vehicle.

-- Position the front roof reinforcement -1- according to -dimension a- centered on the roof and mark the position.

• Dimension -a- = approximately 15 mm to the bow -3-

-- Guide the rear roof reinforcement -2- into the vehicle.

-- Position the rear roof reinforcement -2- according to -dimension b- centered on the roof and mark the position.

• Dimension -b- = approximately 20 mm to the bow -3-

-- Remove both roof reinforcements from the vehicle again.

-- Based on the line markings with the Cartridge Gun: V.A.G 1628  , apply one-part assembly adhesive to the roof reinforcements. Refer to the appropriate Electronic Parts Information.

• Thickness of the beads on the circumference -A arrows- is approximately 7 mm.
• Thickness of the support beads -B arrows- is approximately 5 mm.

-- Guide the roof reinforcements into the vehicle.

-- Align the roof reinforcements according to the previously made markings and press on over the entire surface.

-- Remove any protruding adhesive.

Further installation is performed in reverse order of the removal.
