Decoupler Actuator -V606-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
-- Clean the sealing surface to the actuator.
-- Secure the yoke -2- with a small amount of grease on the Decoupler Actuator -V606- -1- and align it so that it engages into the symmetrical decoupler spring -arrow- when positioning.
-- Install the steering intermediate shaft. Refer to STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- If the Decoupler Actuator -V606- was replaced, then the Decoupler Actuator -V606- must be adapted and the service mode must be deactivated.
Decoupler Actuator -V606-, Adapting
The Vehicle Diagnostic Tester is connected.
-- Select and start the Diagnostic operating mode.
-- Select the Test plan tab.
-- Select the Select individual test button and select the following tree structure consecutively:
- Drivetrain
- Engine code
- 0001 - OBD-capable systems
- 0001 - Engine electronics J623
- 0001 - Engine electronics functions
- J623 - Engine/Motor Control Module Function
Start the selected program and follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display.
Service, Deactivating
The Vehicle Diagnostic Tester is connected.
-- Select and start the Diagnostic operating mode.
-- Select the Test plan tab.
-- Select the Select individual test button and select the following tree structure consecutively:
- Drivetrain
- Engine code
- 0001 - OBD-capable systems
- 0001 - Engine electronics J623
- 0001 - Engine electronics functions
- 0001 - Activate/deactivate the service mode
Start the selected program and follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display.
