Overview - Front Brakes, Q8

  1. Brake Shield
  2. Wheel Bearing Housing
  3. Bracket
    • For brake hose
  4. Bolt
    • 10 Nm
    • Always replace self-locking bolts.
    • Replace damaged bolts
    • Clean bolts before reusing
  5. Bracket
    • For brake hose
  6. Rivet
  7. Bracket
    • For the brake line/hose
    • On the body
  8. Spring
    • Replace if damaged
  9. Brake Line
    • Brake line to brake hose tightening specification: 14 Nm
  10. Brake Hose
    • Replace if damaged
    • Allocation. Refer to the appropriate Parts Information.
    • Make sure the brake hose is routed correctly. Make sure the brake hose is not blocked, bent, twisted or rubbing against the vehicle.
    • Make sure that tabs are properly seated in the grooves on the bracket.
    • Brake hose to brake caliper tightening specification. Refer to Fig 3.
  11. Bolt
    • 196 Nm
    • Replace damaged bolts
    • Always replace self-locking bolts.
    • Clean bolts before reusing
  12. Brake Pads
  13. Brake Pad Retaining Plate
    • Replace when replacing the pads
    • Check for proper seating
  14. Brake Pad Spring
    • Replace when replacing the pads
    • Check for proper seating
  15. Brake Pad Wear Indicator Wire
  16. Cap
  17. Bleed Screw
    • 18 Nm
    • Refer to HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, BLEEDING
    • Before installing coat thinly using Lubricating Grease. For the allocation. Refer to the appropriate Parts Information.
  18. Brake Caliper
  19. Brake Pad Retaining Plate
    • Replace when replacing the pads
    • Check for proper seating
  20. Bolt
    • 10 Nm
    • Replace damaged bolts
    • Always replace self-locking bolts.
    • Clean bolts before reusing
  21. Brake Rotor
  22. Bolt
    • 10 Nm
    • Replace damaged bolts
    • Always replace self-locking bolts.
    • Clean bolts before reusing

Do Not Loosen the Caliper/Brake Carrier Bolted Connections.

CAUTION:

Damage to the brake caliper due to bolts being loosened.

- Do not loosen the bolts -arrows- on the brake caliper.

Tightening Specification - Brake Hose to Brake Caliper
