Brake Caliper Piston, Removing And Installing: Installing

-- Only clean the surfaces of the pistons and seal with mineral spirits and then dry.

-- Check the brake caliper piston and the piston wall. When a brake caliper piston or a piston cylinder are damaged, the brake caliper must be replaced.

-- Install the entire repair kit.

-- Before inserting the brake caliper piston and the seal, apply a thin coat of Lithium Grease.

-- Insert the seal into the brake caliper.

-- Position the protective cap -4- on the back of the brake caliper piston -3-.

-- The inner sealing lip -arrow b- does not sit on the brake caliper piston.

-- Slide the brake caliper piston -3- onto the thrust nut -5-. Installation is only possible in four positions.

-- Use the Trim Removal Wedge:3409  to insert the inner sealing lip of the protective cap -4- into the groove -arrows- in the brake caliper -1-.

-- Carefully push the brake caliper piston -3- into the brake caliper -1- by moving the brake caliper piston.

-- Push the brake caliper piston far enough into the brake caliper until it touches the thrust nut.

-- Pay attention to the protective cap -4- when installing.

-- Carefully turn the spindle in the direction of -arrow b- until the thrust nut is at the stop.

-- The protective cap -4- must rest completely on the brake caliper -1- -arrows- and must sit correctly in the inner groove.

-- Push the brake caliper piston -3- by hand into the brake caliper -1-.

-- The outer sealing lip of the protective cap -4- springs into the groove -arrow- on the brake caliper piston -3- at the same time.
