A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor 3 -G827-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
- From the start of production (through approximately the middle of 2016), the sensors that are identical in construction (A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor -G395-, A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor 2 -G826- and A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor 3 -G827-) are already installed by the manufacturer with a coded address corresponding to their component location. This address cannot be changed.
- Only install the sensors (A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor -G395-, A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor 2 -G826- and A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor 3 -G827-), which cannot be addressed, at the component location assigned to them. Refer to OVERVIEW - REFRIGERANT LINES .
- Sensors, which are already pre-addressed, are received as a replacement part in one set (with 3 sensors addressed differently) or only together with the corresponding refrigerant line. Refer to Parts Information.
- From the middle of 2016 addressable sensors are installed as a running change and available as a replacement part. These sensors can be addressed according to their component locations. use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .
- Do not install any of the A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor -G395-, A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor 2 -G826- and A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor 3 -G827- of a different version (with and without coded address). If interchanged there can be problems with the allocation of the sensors without coded addresses. If necessary also replace the other sensor with a sensor of the same version (with or without the printed name -B-).
-- Check the connection -4- for contamination or damage. Clean or replace the refrigerant line if necessary.
-- Replace the O-ring seal -3- and coat lightly with refrigerant oil before installing. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT SEALS .
-- Install the sensor -2- and tighten.
-- Evacuate and fill the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit (Refrigerant R134a Servicing, Refrigerant Circuit, Working with A/C Service Station) or Working with A/C Service Station .
-- Initiate the A/C system basic setting through the Thermal Management Control Module -J1024-, and activate the power-controlled valves through the stored routine Charge/flush the refrigerant circuit stop routine using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .
-- If the A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor 3 -G827- is replaced (addressable versions), perform an addressing.
Procedure
-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .
-- Select the Diagnostic mode and start the diagnosis.
-- Select the Test plan tab.
-- Select the Select individual test button and select the following tree structure consecutively:
- Body
- Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning
- OBD-Capable Systems
- C5 - Thermal Management Control Module - J1024
- C5 - Basic setting
- → Pressure-temperature sensors automatic addressing
-- Operate the A/C system after charging the refrigerant circuit. Refer to A/C SYSTEM, STARTING AFTER CHARGING REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT .
-- Then retrieve the DTC memory using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .
