Dryer Cartridge, Removing And Installing, From Receiver/Dryer On Condenser: Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
- Check the receiver/dryer -E- and the threads on the condenser via the opening for debris and damage -arrow-.
- Replace the plug -A- with the filter element and both O-ring seals -B and C- (included in the delivery of the dryer). Refer to the Parts Information.
- Lightly coat the O-rings -B and C- with refrigerant oil. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT SEALS .
- Make sure the O-rings sit correctly inside the grooves of the respective components.
- Keep the desiccant bag -D- sealed in its air-tight package as long as possible. Open the package just before inserting the dryer cartridge in the receiver/dryer of the condenser. The dryer cartridge absorbs moisture from the surrounding air in a very short time and becomes unusable.
-- Remove the desiccant bag -D- from its package and insert in the receiver/dryer.
-- Install the plug -A- and the O-ring seals -B and C-.
-- Evacuate and charge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit or Working with A/C Service Station .
-- Install the remaining removed components.
Vehicles with High-Voltage System
-- Switch the ignition on.
-- Vehicles with Heat Pump Function, Initiate the basic setting of the A/C system through the Thermal Management Control Module -J1024- and activate the power-controlled valves using the routine Charge/flush the refrigerant circuit stop routine using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .

-- Operate the A/C system after charging the refrigerant circuit. Refer to A/C SYSTEM, STARTING AFTER CHARGING REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT .
