Pedestrian Protection Crash Sensor -G570- / -G571-, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

-- Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Position the pressure hose -2- at the center of the color mark -4- in the recess at the specified marking -3- in the molded foam part -1-.

TIP:

-- Position the pressure hose evenly in both directions -arrows- in the recess in the molded foam part.

CAUTION:

Do not kink or stretch the pressure hose.

-- Engage the pedestrian protection crash sensor into the molded foam part.

-- Install the molded foam part with the pedestrian protection crash sensors. Refer to FRONT BUMPER .

CAUTION:

Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.

There is a risk of injury.

- Discharge static electricity by briefly touching the door striker.

-- Attach the connector -1- to the crash sensor until it clicks into place -arrow-.

-- Push in the connector lock -2- to secure the connector.

CAUTION:

Risk of airbag deployment.

There is a risk of injury.

- Switching on the ignition (key/button) after assembly may only be done when the driver seat is positioned all the way back.

-- Check and erase the airbag control module DTC memory because faults can be stored from when the connectors are disconnected. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
