Oil Tray, Removing And Installing: Installing

CAUTION:

Risk of contaminating the lubricating system and the bearing.

- Cover open engine components.

CAUTION:

Risk of injuring the eyes from sealant residue.

- Wear protective eyewear.

-- Remove the sealant residue on the oil tray and cylinder block -1- using for example a rotating plastic brush.

-- Clean any oil or grease off the sealing surfaces.

CAUTION:

There is a risk that the lubrication system could be blocked by excess sealant.

- Do not apply sealant bead thicker than indicated.

-- Coat the sealing surfaces -arrows- on the oil tray and on the lower timing chain cover -2- thinly with sealant.

-- Carefully position the oil tray at the same time guide at an angle from below to the sealing surface on the cylinder block and lower timing chain cover.

-- Next install all bolts by hand and then tighten.

Further installation is performed in reverse order of removal, while noting the following:

-- Install the oil pan upper section. Refer to OIL PAN UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, WITH LOWER TIMING CHAIN COVER INSTALLED .
