Oil Pan Upper Section, Removing And Installing, With Lower Timing Chain Cover Installed: Removing
- The transmission is removed. Refer to the appropriate Service Information .
- Engine oil drained. Refer to ENGINE OIL .
Depending on the model, preliminary work may be required. Refer to OIL PAN UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- If not removed yet, remove the steering gear. Refer to STEERING GEAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Vehicles with starter generator: remove bolt -1-, remove the connection nozzle -2- and push to the side.
-- Remove the oil pan lower section. Refer to OIL PAN LOWER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- 2.9L engine: remove A/C Compressor bracket. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR BRACKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 2.9L ENGINE WITHOUT ELECTRICAL COMPRESSOR .
-- 3.0L engine: remove the A/C compressor ribbed belt from the belt pulley. Refer to RIBBED BELT FOR A/C COMPRESSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 3.0L ENGINE .
-- Vehicles with subframe brace: remove the bolts -arrows- and the brace -1-.
-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and remove the intake tube -1-.
-- Free up the wiring harness.
-- Loosen and remove the bolts in the following sequence: -21 to 1-.
-- To loosen the oil pan upper section -1- turn four M6x40 bolts -arrows- all the way.
-- Install the bolts in a diagonal sequence 1 /2 turn respectively until the oil pan upper section is loosened.
-- Remove the bolts and the oil pan upper section.
