Vehicles with High-Voltage System
-- Switch off (deactivate) the "parking air conditioner".Refer to Owner's Manual.
Continuation for all vehicles
-- Switch off the ignition.
Front passenger side
-- Unclip the inner front passenger side cover -1- using the Trim Removal Wedge:3409 from the instrument panel cover in the direction of -arrows-.
Driver side, LHD
-- Remove accelerator pedal. Refer to ACCELERATOR MECHANISM .
Driver side, RHD
-- Remove the driver side instrument panel cover. Refer to DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Continuation for all vehicles
-- Pull the carpet in the area of the center tunnel slightly to the side.
-- Unclip the support for the A/C unit -1- downward in the direction of -arrow A- from the heater and A/C unit -2- and remove in the direction of -arrow B-.
-- Check that both the condensation water drain hoses -B- are properly routed and for dirt. Correct, for example, if there is a constriction.
-- Cover the area under both openings -D- (for water drain hose opening -C-)with absorbent paper (so that any water does not get under the carpet).
-- Remove both condensation water drain hoses -B-.
-- Check both heater and A/C unit condensation water drains -A- for contamination (for example, using a piece of wire).
-- Check the gap between the insulation mat installed in the center tunnel -E- and the end of the condensation water drain hose -C- above the openings -D- in the floor panel -F- ; the gap must be large enough so that the condensation water can flow out of the condensation water drain hose -B-.
