Brake Pads, Removing And Installing, Brake Caliper Without Brake Pad Spring: Removing

-- Release the parking brake.

-- To replace the brake pads, drive the parking brake motors rearward using the program "brake pads, removing". Refer to DIAGNOSTIC ENTRY .

-- Continue to follow the instructions in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display.

-- Switch off the ignition.

-- Remove the rear wheel, while observing the safety precautions for vehicles with ceramic brakes. Refer to WHEELS, TIRES, WHEEL ALIGNMENT (WHEEL TIRE COMBINATIONS - AIR PRESSURES) .

• Label the brake pads when removing if they are going to be used again. Install in the same position, otherwise the braking effect will be uneven.
• Do not disconnect the connectors from the parking brake motors.

-- Free up the wire by removing the protective cap -2- from the bleed screw and remove the clips -1 and 5-.

-- Carefully remove the contact -3- for the brake pad wear indicator using pliers while paying attention to the clip -4-. (shown on the ceramic brakes)

• If the clips go missing, the brake pad wear indicator wire must be replaced.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- by counterholding the guide pins -1 and 2-.

-- Remove the brake caliper and guide the brake pad wear indicator wire out at the same time.

-- Hang the brake caliper using a suitable wire.

-- Remove the brake pads.
