Brake Caliper, Removing And Installing, RSQ8: Removing
-- Remove the front wheel while observing the safety precautions for vehicles with ceramic brakes. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
-- Disconnect the connector -1- for the brake pad wear indicator.
-- Release the connector -2- for the brake pad wear indicator from its bracket in direction of -arrow A- while turning it 90° at the same time in direction of -arrow B-.
-- Free up the brake hose -3- on the bracket.
-- Pushing the inner brake pad -3- slightly into the brake caliper with suitable pliers -1- makes it easier to remove the brake caliper from the brake rotor. To prevent damage to the surface of the brake caliper, place a piece of rubber -2- between the pliers and brake caliper.
-- Remove the bolt -2-.
-- Install the Bracket Holder: T40423/1 -4- in the upper thread hand-tight.
-- Remove the bolt -3-.
-- Remove the brake caliper -1- as far as possible in direction of -arrow-, until the brake rotor is freed up.
-- Lock the brake caliper -1- in a suitable position using the clamp -5- from the Bracket Holder:T40423 .
-- Pivot the brake caliper -1- outward in direction of -arrow-.
-- Install the Bracket Holder: T40423/1 -4- in the lower thread hand-tight.
-- Lock the Bracket Holder - Sleeve:T40423/2 -2- to the height of the brake caliper -1- using the clamp -3- from the Bracket Holder:T40423 .
-- Place the brake caliper -1- on the Bracket Holder - Sleeve:T40423/2 -2-.
