Checking the water drains for debris:

Glass panel opened all the way.

-- Remove any visible debris in the guide rail area using an industrial vacuum cleaner or a lint-free cloth.

-- Slowly pour 0.5L of water into the guide rail on each side near the open glass panel -arrow- using a measuring container -1-. Work carefully so that water does not flow into the dry area. Make sure that the water spreads in both directions; this way the front and the rear water drain can be checked.

-- Check on the vehicle underside that water flows out of both the front and rear wheel housing areas.

-- Repeat the procedure on the other side of the vehicle.

-- If only very little or no water flows out at the respective areas, clean the water drains. Refer to WATER DRAIN HOSES, CLEANING .

NOTE:

Carefully pour the water into the guide rail on each side. If the water drain is clogged, water can get into the vehicle interior (headliner).

The water must easily (within a minute) flow out at the front and rear water drains near the wheel housings on each side.
