Overview - Sound System, Advanced Sound System (8RF), From Product Improvement Through My 2020
The Advanced Sound System consists of the following components:
- Two speakers in the left and right A-pillars
- Two speakers in the left and right front doors, RX2/RX3
- One retractable speaker on the left and right side of the instrument panel
- Two speakers in the center of the instrument panel
- One speaker in the left and right B-pillars
- Two speakers in the left and right rear doors, RX15/RX16
- Two speakers on the left and right sides of the rear roof, RX17/RX18
- Subwoofer -R211- in the luggage compartment
- Digital Sound System Control Module -J525- in the luggage compartment or behind the left rear bench seat on the crossmember
- Left Front Midrange Speaker 2 -R276- at the top of the left A-pillar (at height of the exterior rearview mirror)
- Left Front Door Speaker -RX2- in Left Front Door
- Left Front Midrange Speaker -R103- in left front door
- Left Front Bass Speaker -R21- in Left Front Door
- Left Rear Treble Speaker -R14- in Left B-Pillar
- Left Front Treble Speaker 2 -R220- in the left A-pillar at the top

- MOST Bus
Fault Finding is performed using the "Guided Fault Finding" on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .
Notes on MOST bus
The optical data bus "MOST bus" is used in addition to the CAN bus.
A fiber-optic cable is used. Fiber optic cables are routed inside corrugated tubes for protection.
Replace the complete fiber-optic cable if possible.
The front surface of the connectors must not be contaminated.
If the connectors are disconnected: connect the Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Connector Protective Caps:VAS 6223/9 from the Fiber-Optic Repair Set:VAS 6223A .
When routing fiber-optic cables, make sure not to go below the minimum bending radius of 25 mm. Do not crush or kink fiber optic cables.
