MECHATRONIC, Removing And Installing, Transmission Generation 2: Removing
- The transmission is installed.
-- Move the transmission into the "P" position.
-- Switch the ignition off.
-- Remove the transmission fluid pan. Refer to the appropriate Service Information. .
-- If equipped, remove the auxiliary hydraulic pump. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID AUXILIARY HYDRAULIC PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- If equipped, remove the hydraulic pulse memory. Refer to HYDRAULIC PULSE MEMORY WITH Accumulator Solenoid -N485-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Risk of destroying due to electrostatic charge.
- Do not touch the connector terminals.
- Touch a grounded object (for example the hoist) and discharge any static electricity.
-- Turn the twist lock counter-clockwise in direction of -arrow- and disconnect the connector from the transmission.
-- Remove the bolt -1-.
-- Turn the connector housing -2- counter-clockwise in direction of -arrow- and remove it.
-- For better accessibility position the lever -3- for the parking lock in vertical position and secure it in this position with a cable tie -arrow-. The slider -1- can then engage easier into the claw -2- of the emergency release during installation.
Risk of Causing Damage to the Mechatronic.
- Only the bolts with a T40 TORX® bolt head may be loosened.
- If other bolts are loosened, this may impair the function of the Mechatronic unit or it may come apart.
-- Remove the bolts in the sequence -19 to 2-.
- Do not remove the bolt -1- yet.
-- Install the four :T40199 in the threaded holes -5, 7, 12 and 14- hand-tight.
-- Remove the bolt -1-.
-- Remove the Mechatronic.
-- Lay the Mechatronic with the bolt head side facing down only as shown.
