Vibration Damper, Removing And Installing, 2.9L Engine: Installing

Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.

-- Position the vibration damper -1- on the crankshaft -2- and secure it with a new bolt. Pay attention to the alignment sleeve -arrow- at the same time.

-- Place the : T40330/4 with : T40330/1 on the vibration damper and secure using the bolt -arrow- (23 Nm); to do so, place the : T40330/3 underneath.

-- Tighten the vibration damper bolt -1-.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and remove the counterholder.

-- Install the ribbed belt tensioner for the A/C compressor. Refer to RIBBED BELT TENSIONER FOR A/C COMPRESSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 2.9L ENGINE .

-- Installing the generator ribbed belt. Refer to RIBBED BELT FOR GENERATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 2.9L ENGINE .

There are different procedures depending on the model. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- If the vibration damper was replaced, perform the adaptations listed in Guided Function "0001 - mechanical engine, functions" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
