Main Bearing Shells Allocation

Allocation of the Crankshaft Bearing Shells for the Cylinder Block
- Bearing shells with the correct thickness are allocated to the cylinder block in the factory. The colored dots on the sides of the bearing shell mark the bearing shell thickness.
- The allocation of the bearing shells to the cylinder block is indicated by a letter for each bearing shell on the right side of the cylinder block as shown.

Allocation of Crankshaft Bearing Shells for Bearing Cap
- Bearing shells with correct thickness are allocated to bearing cap at factory. The colored dots on the sides of the bearing shell mark the bearing shell thickness.
- The allocation of bearing shells to bearing caps is identified by a letter on the rear crankshaft flange, as shown.
- The letter series begins with crankshaft bearing "1" (belt pulley side) and ends with crankshaft bearing "4" (transmission side).
