New Connecting Rod, Separating

A new connecting rod might not be separated all the way at the predetermined breaking point. If the connecting rod bearing cap cannot be removed by hand, proceed as follows:
-- Mark the cylinder where the connecting rod is allocated to OVERVIEW - PISTONS AND CONNECTING ROD List Item:Connecting Rod.
-- Tension the connecting rod -1- under the dotted line in a vise equipped with aluminum protective pads.
- Clamp the connecting rod lightly to prevent damaging it.
-- Loosen both bolts -2- approximately five turns.
-- Carefully tap the connecting rod bearing cap -1- with a plastic hammer in the -direction of the arrow- until it comes loose.
