Battery, 48 V -A6-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing
-- Remove the luggage compartment floor, tool box and temporary spare tire.
-- Visually inspect and classify the Battery, 48 V -A6-. Refer to Battery, 48 V -A6-, VISUALLY INSPECTING AND CLASSIFYING .
-- De-energize the 48V system and disconnect the Battery -A-. Refer to Battery -A-, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- For equipment versions with battery cooling - VH3, remove the expanding rivets -4-.
-- Remove the air duct protective housing -1- from the protective housing for the Battery, 48 V - A6- -2-.
-- Remove the pressure equalization hose -3- by pressing the catches on both sides.
-- Release the retainers in direction of -arrows-.
-- Remove the caps -1- from the "+" and "-" terminal.
-- Remove the nuts -2 and 3-.
-- Remove the terminal clamps -4 and 5- from the threaded pins on the Battery, 48 V -A6- -1-.
Risk of Short Circuit by the Battery Terminal Clamps.
- Insulate the battery terminal clamps.
-- Wrap the terminal clamps on the connecting wires -1 and 2- immediately with insulating tape to protect from short circuit and move to the side.
-- Disconnect the connector -3-.
Vehicles with Battery Cooling - VH3:
-- Remove the interior partition cover. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - VEHICLE INTERIOR TRIM PANELS .
-- Loosen the clip -2- and move the wires to the side.
-- Remove the front air duct -1- from the fan connections -5- in direction of -arrow A-.
-- Disconnect the fan connector -6- and loosen the clip -7-.
-- Remove the expanding rivets -3- and loosen the rear air duct -4-.
-- Remove the rear air duct -4- from the fan connection -5- in direction of -arrow B-.
-- Remove the screws -arrows-.
-- Remove the protective housing upper section -1-.
-- Pry out the Battery, 48 V -A6- -2- from the battery mount -3-.
