Oil Pan Upper Section, Removing And Installing: Removing

Depending on the model, preliminary work may be required. Refer to OIL PAN UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

• The transmission is removed. Refer to TRANSMISSION, REMOVING 8-Speed Automatic (0D5) , TRANSMISSION, REMOVING 8-Speed Automatic (0D6) .

-- Remove the lower timing chain cover. Refer to LOWER TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the steering gear. Refer to STEERING GEAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the oil pan lower section. Refer to OIL PAN LOWER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

All vehicles excluding RSQ8 / SQ8 / SQ7:

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the subframe brace -1-.

Continuation for All Vehicles:

-- Remove A/C Compressor bracket. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR BRACKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -2 and 3- and remove the intake tube -1-.

Audi RS6/RS7:

-- Remove the oil pump. Refer to OIL PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Continuation for All Vehicles:

-- Free up the wiring harness.

-- Loosen and remove the bolts in the following sequence: -21 to 1-.

-- To loosen the oil pan upper section -1- turn four M6x40 hex socket bolts -arrows- all the way.

-- Install the bolts in a diagonal sequence ¹ /₂ turn respectively until the oil pan upper section is loosened.

-- remove the bolts and the oil pan upper section.
