Catalytic Converter, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the respective subframe shield upper section. Refer to SUBFRAME SHIELD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the rear noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- of the respective front muffler.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows-. (Shown left).

Catalytic Converter Cylinder Bank 1 (Right):

-- Remove the right drive axle heat shield. Refer to DRIVE AXLE HEAT SHIELD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicles without Auxiliary Radiator for Transmission Fluid Cooler

-- Remove the nuts -4-.

-- Push the Transmission Fluid Cooling Pump -V478- -item 10- with the bracket -3- to the side.

-- Remove the connector -arrow- for the Oxygen Sensor 1 After Catalytic Converter -GX7- from the bracket, disconnect it and free up the wire.

-- If necessary, remove the Oxygen Sensor 1 After Catalytic Converter -GX7- -1- using the Ring Wrench Set - Oxygen Sensor Probe Socket: 3337/7  .

Catalytic Converter Cylinder Bank 2 (Left):

-- Remove the connector -2- for the Oxygen Sensor 2 after Catalytic Converter -G131- from the bracket, disconnect it and free up the wire.

-- If necessary, remove the Oxygen Sensor 2 After Catalytic Converter -GX8- -2- using the Ring Wrench Set - Oxygen Sensor Probe Socket:3337/7  .

-- Loosen and remove the screw-type clamp from the respective catalytic converters -1 or 2-.

-- Remove the catalytic converter upward.
