Instrument Panel, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
- Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
- Before installing, check all the fasteners for damage and replace if necessary.
-- Set the instrument panel in place and guide the connectors through the openings in the instrument panel.
-- Check if there is a rubber buffer -3- on the instrument panel mount -2- at the bottom of the windshield frame.
-- When sliding on the instrument panel -1-, make sure the instrument panel mounts engage in the box-shaped profiles on the bottom side of the instrument panel.
Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.
Risk of injury.
- Discharge the static electricity: quickly touch the door striker.
-- Connect the connector -1- to the airbag igniter direction of the -arrow A-.
-- Press in the connector lock -2- in the direction of the -arrow B-. At the same time, the connector is pushed into the airbag igniter all the way and locks into place.
-- Make sure the connectors are pushed in all the way and that they engage audibly.
Risk of airbag deployment.
Risk of injury.
- Switching on the ignition after assembly may only be done when the driver seat is positioned all the way back.
-- Check and erase the airbag control module DTC memory because faults can be stored from when the connectors are disconnected. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
