Brake Pads, Removing And Installing, Steel Brakes: Removing
-- Free up the wire for the brake pad wear contact -1-, to do so open the protective cap -3- and disengage the wire from the brake caliper -arrows-.
-- Remove the brake caliper. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STEEL BRAKES .
Do not bend the brake lines.
A damaged brake line must be replaced.
Label the brake pads when removing if they are going to be used again. Install in the same position, otherwise the braking effect will be uneven.
Pull out the brake pads -3 and 4- one after the other toward the center of the brake caliper.
-- Unclip the brake pad retaining plate -1-.
-- When the brake pads are being replaced, unclip the brake pad spring -2-.
Always replace a damaged brake pad spring
Do not change the shape of the brake pad spring and brake pad retaining plate.
Damaged brake pad springs and brake pad retaining plates must be replaced.
