Overview - Cylinder Block, Transmission Side: Notes

- Cylinder Block
- Alignment Sleeves
- Transmission Side Sealing Flange
- Always replace after removing.
- With gasket
- Do not apply oil to the seal.
- Removing and installing. Refer to SEALING FLANGE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, TRANSMISSION SIDE .
- Before installing, remove oil residue from crankshaft journal with a clean cloth
- The guide sleeve may only be removed after the sealing flange has been slid onto the crankshaft journal.
- Bolt
- Different versions:
- Steel bolts can be reused.
- Replace aluminum bolts after removing
- Different versions:
- Drive Plate/Dual Mass Flywheel
Drive Plate for Vehicles Without High-Voltage System
- Removing and Installing. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Equipment versions with a manual transmission must have a needle bearing inside the drive plate; if necessary install the needle bearing. Refer to NEEDLE BEARING IN DRIVE PLATE, REPLACING .
- For equipment version with a dual-clutch transmission/automatic transmission, then do not install a needle bearing inside the crankshaft. Remove the needle bearing if necessary. Refer to NEEDLE BEARING IN DRIVE PLATE, REPLACING .
Dual Mass Flywheel for Vehicles with High-Voltage System
- Removing and Installing. Refer to DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Bolt
- 60 Nm + 90°
- Replace after removing.
- Needle Bearing
- Replacing. Refer to NEEDLE BEARING IN DRIVE PLATE, REPLACING .
- Equipment version with manual transmission
- Intermediate Plate
- Installing. Refer to Fig 4.
Transmission Side Sealing Flange with Six Bolts - Tightening Specifications and Sequence
NOTE:
Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.
-- Tighten the bolts in order of the Steps below in the sequence as shown:

TIP:
Only six bolts are installed, two bolt openings remain open.
Transmission Side Sealing Flange with Eight Bolts - Tightening Specifications and Sequence
NOTE:
Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.
