Main Bearing Shells Allocation

Cylinder Block Bearing Shell Identification: 

The cylinder block identification may be engraved either on the oil pan sealing surface or on the front side (transmission side) of the cylinder block.

The identification on the cylinder block is for the upper bearing shell (cylinder block bearing shell).

-- Note the letters and then match them to the color identification in the table.

S = Black
R = Red
G = Yellow
B = Blue
V = Purple
W = White

Color coding depending on the version. Refer to the Parts Information for the allocation.

Bearing Cap Bearing Shell Identification:

The identification on the crankshaft is for the lower bearing shell (bearing cap bearing shell)

R = Red
G = Yellow
B = Blue
W = White
V = Purple
S = Black
