Rear Muffler With Center Muffler, Removing And Installing, Without Separating Point: Removing

-- Remove the center underbody trim panel. Refer to OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS .

-- If necessary, remove the bolts -arrows- from the rear bumper cover lower section.

-- Loosen the clamping sleeve -arrows- and push toward the rear.

-- Slightly lower the front muffler and remove the clamping sleeve.

-- Tie up the front muffler.

-- Equipped on some models: disconnect the connector -arrow- for the Exhaust Door Control Unit -J883-.

CAUTION:

Risk of Accident Due to the Heavy Weight of the Muffler.

- A second technician is required for the following work steps.

-- Remove the left and right bolts -3- and disengage the retaining loop -1- (example illustration).

-- Remove the bolt -4- and remove the muffler -2-. (At the same time pay attention to the bumper cover lower section, if necessary.)
