Right Coolant Pipe, Removing And Installing: Removing

• During installation, all heat shield boots must be installed at the same location.

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove the front muffler. Refer to FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicles with a particulate filter: 

-- Remove the particulate filter. Refer to PARTICULATE FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Continuation for All Vehicles: 

-- Remove the drive axle heat shield. Refer to DRIVE AXLE HEAT SHIELD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the nut -2- from below. (The nuts -1- will be removed later.)

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicle with High-Voltage System:

-- Disconnect the connector -3- for the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor 2 -G850-.

Continuation for All Vehicles: 

-- Free up the EVAP system hose -2- from the air duct pipe.

-- Free up the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor 2 -G850- at the air duct pipe.

Air Duct Pipe, Version 1:

-- Remove the vacuum hose -2- (example illustration).

-- Loosen the hose clamp -3- and remove the air duct pipe -1-.

Air Duct Pipe, Version 2:

-- Remove the vacuum hose -3-.

-- Press the release buttons on both sides and remove the secondary air injection hose -4-.

-- Loosen the hose clamp -1- and remove the air duct pipe -2-.

Vehicles without a Secondary Air Injection System:

-- Remove the connector -1- for the Oxygen Sensor 1 after Catalytic Converter -GX7- -2- from the bracket and disconnect it. Free up the wires.

Vehicles with a Particulate Filter:

-- Disconnect the connector -2- for the Oxygen Sensor 1 After Catalytic Converter -GX7- -1- and free up the wires.

-- Remove the nuts -1- from above and move the catalytic converter toward the rear.

Vehicles with Secondary Air System: 

-- Remove the secondary air pump and loosen the secondary air pipe. Refer to OVERVIEW - SECONDARY AIR SYSTEM .

-- Fold back the heat shield boot and pry up the clamp -2- and remove the coolant hose.

-- Loosen the hose clamp -3- and remove the coolant hose.

-- Remove the bolt -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-, disconnect the right coolant pipe from the cylinder block and remove it.
