Battery, 48 V -A6-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 7-SEATER: Removing
-- Remove the luggage compartment floor.
-- Visually inspect and classify the Battery, 48 V -A6-. Refer to Battery, 48 V -A6-, VISUALLY INSPECTING AND CLASSIFYING .
-- De-energize the 48V system and disconnect the Battery -A-. Refer to Battery -A-, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove the Voltage Converter, 48 V/12 V -A7-. Refer to Voltage Converter, 48 V/12 V -A7-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 7-SEATER .
-- Release the retainers -arrows-.
-- Remove the cap -1- from the "+" and "-" terminal.
-- Remove the nuts -1 and 2- and remove the battery terminal clamps from the battery terminals.
Risk of short circuit by the battery terminal clamps.
- Insulate the battery terminal clamps.
-- Immediately wrap the battery terminal clamps -1 and 2- with insulating tape and set them aside.
-- Remove the pressure equalization hose -1- by pressing the catches on both sides.
-- Disconnect the connector -2-.
Vehicles with Battery Cooling - VH3:
-- Remove the luggage compartment floor trim panel. Refer to OVERVIEW - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR .
-- Remove the Battery Fan 1 Battery Fan 1 -V457-. Refer to BATTERY FANS Battery Fan 1 -V457-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Continuation for all:
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
-- Remove the nut -1- and the bolt -2-.
-- Remove the battery.
Vehicles with Battery Cooling - VH3:
-- Loosen the expanding rivet -2- and remove the lower air duct -1-.
Continuation for All:
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
-- Remove the protective housing upper section -1-.
-- Pry out the battery -2- from the battery tray -3-.
