Pedal Assembly: Notes

CAUTION:

The brake pedal stroke must not be restricted by extra carpets or floor mats.

NOTE:

Before installation, coat all contact points with white Lubricating grease:G 052 142 A2  , or equivalent.

  1. Self-locking nut
    • Always replace
    • 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
  2. Pedal bracket
    • Do not remove to remove clutch pedal
  3. Hydraulic hose
    • Route appropriately on pedal bracket and fasten with clip
  4. Cable clip
    • Install on hydraulic hose and then install in pedal bracket
  5. Circlip
    • Always replace
  6. Over-center spring
    • Do not lubricate
    • Lubricate only contact points on pedal and pedal bracket
    • Removing and installing Over-Center Spring, Removing and Installing 
    • Install on pivot pin of pedal bracket and clutch pedal
    • Route hydraulic hose to master cylinder so that it does not rub on over-center spring
    • Note different versions
    • Can be removed and installed with pedal bracket installed
  7. Circlip
    • Always replace
    • Install on pedal bracket shaft
  8. Circlip
    • Always replace
  9. Cylinder bolt
    • 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
    • Fastens slave cylinder on pedal bracket
  10. Clutch pedal
    • Located by adjustment of clevis
    • Install on pedal bracket shaft
    • Supplied as replacement part with injection-molded bushing (bushing cannot be replaced)
    • Can be replaced with pedal bracket installed
  11. Pad for pedal
    • Can be replaced if necessary
  12. Brake pedal return spring
    • Install with the long shank in pedal bracket and with short shank in brake pedal
  13. Circlip
    • Always replace
    • Install on pedal bracket shaft
  14. Brake pedal
    • Install on pedal bracket shaft
    • Supplied as replacement part with injection-molded bushing (bushing cannot be replaced)
    • Remove to remove and install pedal bracket
  15. Pad for pedal
    • Can be replaced if necessary
  16. Brake light switch -F-

    Adjusting:

    -- Operate brake pedal.

    -- Press brake light switch in to stop.

    -- Pull brake pedal out by hand to stop.

  17. Clip for brake light switch
    • Install in pedal bracket
  18. Washer
  19. Self-locking nut
    • Always replace
    • 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
  20. Pin
    • Fastens clevis to clutch pedal
  21. Clevis
    • Adjusting
  22. Lock nut
    • Tighten after adjusting clevis
  23. Master cylinder
    • Replace if there are leaks
