Parking Brake Overview
NOTE:
Before installing, coat all bearing points with white lubricating grease, Part No. G 052 142 A2 or equivalent.
- Hand grip
- Slide onto parking brake lever until tab latches into parking brake lever
- To remove, carefully press tab on hand grip with screwdriver and pull hand grip off parking brake lever
- Bolt/washer assembly
- Remove after unclipping the shift lever cover
- Center console
- Before removing, remove parking brake lever hand grip
- Removing refer to Removal and Installation
- Parking brake lever
- Supplied as an assembly with pull rod, lock pawl, pressure rod, knob, pressure spring and locking segment
- Locking segment is also supplied separately
- Removing/installing PARKING BRAKE LEVER
- Circlip
- Always replace
- Ensure correct seating
- Self-tapping screw
- Parking brake warning light switch
- Parking brake lever bracket
- Leaf spring
- Install in bracket for parking brake lever
- Screws
- Fasten rear center console
- Equalizer
- Installation position: long side on right when facing direction of travel
- Adjusting nut
- Parking brake, adjusting PARKING BRAKE, ADJUSTING NOTE:
Install 10 mm deepwell socket on adjusting nut, then install flexible extension on socket and ratchet.
- Parking brake, adjusting PARKING BRAKE, ADJUSTING
- Boot
- Ensure correct seating
- Pivot bolt
- Install in bracket for parking brake lever bracket and parking brake lever
