Outer Rear Three-Point Seat Belt, Removing And Installing, AVANT: Removing
-- Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
-- Switch off the ignition and place the ignition key outside of the vehicle and wait 10 seconds before working on the airbag system.
-- Move the front seats all the way forward.
-- Press the seat belt guide trim -1- out of the retainers -2 and 3- using the : 3409 and remove the trim.
-- Remove the side cushion. Refer to OVERVIEW - COVER AND CUSHION .
-- Remove the luggage compartment side trim panel. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, AVANT .
-- Remove the outer rear belt end fitting. Refer to OUTER REAR BELT END FITTING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Push the side window noise insulation to the side in the area of the seat belt.
-- Release the catches -arrows- using a flat-head screwdriver one after the other and at the same time turn the seat belt guide -1- counter-clockwise.
-- Remove the seat belt guide and guide out the seat belt.
-- Disconnect the connector -4- by releasing the connector lock with a small flat-head screwdriver.
Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.
There is a risk of injury.
- Discharge static electricity by briefly touching the door striker.
-- Disconnect the connector -2- by releasing the connector lock with a small flat-head screwdriver.
-- Unclip the wiring harness and push to the side.
-- Push the wheel housing noise insulation in the area of the threaded connection for the seat belt to the side.
-- Remove the suspension strut tower damper, loosen the bolt -1- approximately seven turns.
-- Push the three-point seat belt -3- toward the rear -arrow-, disengage it from the mount and remove it.
