Refrigerant Oil Capacities In Refrigerant Circuits For Refrigerant R1234YF
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Audi S4 and 2021 Audi A4 Quattro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Depending on the time period of production and the engine, the compressor construction type may vary.
- Depending on the A/C compressor type, different refrigerant oil capacities may be designated for the refrigerant circuit.
- Different refrigerant oils are used depending on the manufacturer of the A/C compressor.
- Refer to APPROVED REFRIGERANT OILS FOR REFRIGERANT R1234YF
| Vehicle model | Production period | Total quantity of oil in refrigerant circuit in cm3 | Quantity of refrigerant oil in replacement compressor in cm3 | Differing features of this refrigerant circuit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Audi A4 Audi A5 Audi Q5 | From 06/2016 | 110 + /- 10 | 110 + /- 10 |
|
| 100+ /- 10 | 100+ /- 10 | "Sanden" A/C compressor |
- The mechanically driven replacement A/C compressor is already filled with a specific amount of refrigerant oil (depending on the A/C compressor). This refrigerant oil quantity corresponds to the oil quantity designated for this refrigerant circuit on vehicles with one evaporator. If the A/C compressor is replaced without the refrigerant circuit needing to be flushed, then the refrigerant oil in the new A/C compressor being installed must match the oil quantity that was removed from the old A/C compressor. Refer to COMPONENTS, REPLACING .
- A data plate may be attached to the A/C compressor by the manufacturer, indicating the part number and refrigerant oil quantity.
