Overview - Parking Brake

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging the brake piston.

  • Do not operate the parking brake when the rear brake caliper is removed.
  • A damaged brake piston must be replaced.
NOTE:

Due to a mechanical or electrical fault, it may be required to manually loosen the parking brake in order to move the vehicle. Refer to PARKING BRAKE, MANUALLY LOOSENING .

  1. Rear Brake Caliper
  2. Seal
    • Always replace after removing
  3. Bolt
    • 12 Nm
    • Always replace after removing
    • Self-locking
  4. Electro-Mechanical Parking Brake Motor
    • Left Parking Brake Motor -V282-
    • Right Parking Brake Motor -V283-
  5. ABS Control Module -J104-
  6. Electromechanical Parking Brake Button -E538-
  7. Instrument Cluster
    • With Instrument Cluster Control Module -J285- for the display of the indicator and warning lamps
