Brake Caliper Piston, Removing And Installing, 1LA/1LB: Removing

-- Use compressed air to push the piston out of the brake caliper housing.

NOTE:

Place a wooden board into the recess so the piston is not damaged.

-- Carefully pry the protective cap -1- and the seal out of the brake caliper with the :VAS40338  -2- using gentle lever movements, and do not damage the groove for the protective cap in the brake caliper while doing so.

-- Remove the gasket.

-- To do so, use the :3409  .

NOTE:

When removing, make sure that the cylinder surface is not damaged.
