Overview - Coolant Pump/Coolant Thermostat

- Tightening Specifications and Sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
- Seal
- Always replace after removing.
- Coolant Pump
- Removing and installing. Refer to COOLANT PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- For a new coolant pump, remove the protective cap
- Bolt
- Tightening sequence. Refer to Fig 3.
- Toothed Belt
- For the coolant pump
- Removing and installing. Refer to COOLANT PUMP TOOTHED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Bolt
- 9 Nm
- Toothed Belt Guard
- Bolt
- 10 Nm + 90°
- Always replace after removing.
- Left-hand thread

- For the intake side balance shaft

- Always replace after removing.
- Engine Temperature Control Actuator -N493-
- Removing and Installing. Refer to Engine Temperature Control Actuator -N493-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- After replacing an adaptation must be preformed. Refer to ADAPTING AFTER REPLACING COMPONENTS .
Engine Temperature Control ActuatorN493 - Tightening Sequence
-- Tighten the bolts to 9 Nm in the following sequence: -1 to 5-.
Coolant Pump - Tightening Specifications and Sequence
-- Tighten the coolant pump bolts to 9 Nm in a -1 to 4- sequence.
