Engine, Securing To Engine And Transmission Holder

Procedure

Engine engaged with the Engine Sling :2024A on the Shop Crane :VAS6100

To be aligned to the center of gravity of the assembly, the rails with holes of the lifting hooks must be inserted as shown.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of injury from the lifted engine falling.

Parts of the body could be crushed.

- Secure the mounting hooks and pins on the lifting tackle with a securing pin.

-- Remove the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the intermediate plate. Refer to Fig 2.

-- Remove the left alignment sleeve from the cylinder block.

-- Secure the engine as shown to the Engine and Gearbox Bracket :VAS6095A -1-.

Assembling

Assemble in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Insert the alignment sleeve into the cylinder block.

-- Install the intermediate plate. Refer to Fig 2.

-- Install the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
